Malabsorption Syndrome - dog health experiences

My precious doggies were suffering from malabsorption due to over vaccination which caused candida, which led to skin infections and allergies, ect. These things would then be treated with antibiotics that would clear things up for a bit, but then all the symptoms would return with a vengeance. Thus creating a vicious cycle. I finally said "enough is enough". I investigated on my own and found out the true cause of all of this. What I discovered was shocking indeed. Once I got over my rage at my former vet, who I know knew better, and the anger at myself for just blindly following her protocol, I took control of the situation. We are now seeing a holistic vet. Now we are no longer treating symptoms. We are addressing the cause. Their diet is now supplemented with Plant Enzymes and Probiotics for dogs, organic coconut oil, and spirulina. They are now a picture of health! After seeing what these supplements did for them, I put myself on the same regime and I feel and look better too! There is a blood test for dogs called the "titer test" that will determine if they are still immune to what they have already been vaccinated for. Often, they remain immune for 7 years to things that we are vaccinating them for every year! You can then obtain an official document that says your dog is immune to rabies or whatever the law in your area requires. I truly hope sharing my experience will help others bring their beloved pets back to complete health. God bless!

My 5 yr old german shepard has malabsorbtion and his pancreas does not produce enough enzymes he went all the way down to 52 lbs . He's is now 61 and slowly gaining . What helped was a grainfree food. Taste of wild lamb and potatoe he also gets B12 shot once a week and a probiotic once a day . Pure pumkin about half a cup helps keep stool solid as well. If I cut out the pumkin his stool is like pudding. He to eats a lot and seems always hungry. However B12 does that .

Just adopted a 5 month old greman shepherd dog from the rescue. He was thin when we got him but it was believed it was due to a growth spurt. I got him home and the signs started to appear. I relized after 1 week it wasnt puppy nerves. He poops at least 6 times a day, sometimes loose or liquid stools, he is starving all the time, he will eat dirt and in doing this he ingests little stones. We just got confirmation from the folate test for malabsoption. He is taking meds and on Hills prescription ID diet. He is a great dog loving, smart and good looking. But I cant leave him alone outside or in the house due to all these symtoms. My heart is breaking because I cant continue to throw money at a situation where I see no cure.

We had a Cavalier who was always hungry, had loose, foul-smelling stools, greasy hair that was falling out, and failed to gain weight...even losing it. Classic malabsorption symptoms. After much testing, the vet found out her pancreas was not making enzymes. They supplemented it with a pill at every meal to help her digest the food. She started gaining weight, the diarrhea stopped, and she got her energy back. She's like a new dog.

We have a dobberman, have it since a small puppie. I found out about his having Malabsorption Syndrome pretty late, as several vets didnt seem to be familiar with such cases. The thing is, the puppie developed quite well, and didnt show any symptom other than its foul smelling and clay-like feces. So far, no treatment or special food have had any positive efect. It seems that I and my wife are in for a long life of dealing with the products of a bad digestion :( Nevertheless, the puppie is far from sick and happy as ever, and so are we.

for a while now my dachshud has been eating ferociously and cannot gain weight. She is very skinny. I took her to the vet and the doctor ran a test, but said that he did not know what was wrong with her. I did described her symptoms, but he had no idea. I asked him what could I do to help her. He just told me to keep feeding her. But she is always hungry and can never get enough.

She has the symptoms of malabsorption. Her stools are large and soft, and looks loopy or swirly. It also has a very fowl odor that smells different from regualr stool, and it is a very light color. She is very weak and loses her balance easily. Somtimes she spaces out.

I believe my 11 week old Kishon/lab mix has Malabsorption Syndrome. When we got him at 7 weeks he was skinny from the start. So we took him to the week and the vet wormed him and gave us medicine to help his stomach and help gain weight. He hasnt gained any thing. He is looks like I just got him off the streets. The only thing to him is bones and skin. Its really sad and he eats like a pig, but keeps having runny stools. So now I have to take him back to the vet. Its a horrible coniditoin and I hope he dont have it but I know he does. I already called in to his vet and they said he most likely has it. If any one has any advice please contact me.
